Free Desktop Timer is a a count-down clock for Windows. It is a very light-weight and small application that runs on top of other applications by default. It can be configured to count down from as long as 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds. When the timer reaches zero, the app will play a beeping sound. There are eight skins available that let you change the aspect of the timer. The default one isn't necessarily the best one. I found that it was hard to read the start and reset buttons, so I picked the "Black" theme instead. If you right click on the timer, you can access the application's settings. There is a menu that will display all the skins and sounds available. From this menu, you can also tell the application to shutdown or hibernate your computer or set it on stand by when the timer reaches zero. Free Desktop Timer lets you add multiple timers to the screen, and you can run them at the same time.
In conclusion, Free Desktop Timer works like a charm and it is free, so there isn't much one can complain about. There aren't any advanced options available, but this app is great for users who only need a rudimentary timer.
